Ok, so I’ve heard about this method on the internet and decided to share. You know how full wigs always have a black part? Well, since nobody has a black part I will explain how you can use something very simple to make that part look real.

You will need:

1. Wig of choice

2. Eyeshadow

All you need to do is dap some scalp colored eye shadow on the black part and VOILA! A more realisitic looking part.

How to get rid of wig shine

Hey all! Ever get those synthetic BSS wigs that are so shiny they practically blind you? Well, here I will show you how to tone down the shine and make the wig look more natural.

You will need:

1. A bowl/container big enough to place the wig in

2. Vinegar (distilled white or apple cider)

3. Baby powder

First, fill the container 3/4 of the way with water. Second, pour in 2 capfuls of vinegar. Allow the wig to soak for 1 hour. Gently wring the wig out and allow it to dry. Once it is dry, take some baby powder in your hands and rub it together. Then, run the powder through the wig. Repeat as necessary.

This is the end result (Sorry, I can’t find the before pic)

A tea rinse is a great way to temporarily color your hair naturally, while leaving it soft and minimizing shedding.

You will need

  • 6 bags of black tea
  • 2 cups of very hot water

Prep:

1. Add two cups of boiling water to a large heat resistent cup

2. Carefully place in all six tea bags.

3. Place a cover over the cup

4. Let steep for 30 minutes

Application:

1. Pour cup of tea evenly over entire head

2. Dip long pieces of hair as necessary

3. Massage tea into scalp

4. Cover with a plastic cap

5. Let rinse sit for 30-60 minutes

6. Rinse with cold water

Tips:

  • You may use a spray bottle to make application easier if you would like

Bananas are a great way to add strength and moisture to your hair and are relatively cheap. All these ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Here’s a recipe for a banana hair mask. If you try, please comment.

Ingredients:

  • 1 over ripe banana
  • 2T mayonnaise
  • 1T extra virgin olive oil

Tools:

  • One small bowl or container
  • Applicator brush (optional)

Prep:

1. Begin by mashing the over ripe banana in a small bowl until creamy.

2. Next, stir in mayonaise and olive oil

Application:

1. You may choose to either slater in on by hand as you would a deep conditioner or use an applicator brush for more even distribution.

2. Cover hair with plastic cap

3. Let sit on hair for 30  minutes

4. Rinse thouroughly with cool water

5. Proceed with styling as usual

Tips:

  • To quickly over ripen a banana, place in a paper bag and store in a dark place such as a drawer. If a paper bag is not available, newspaper will do just fine.
  • You may add 1t of honey for added moisture
  • Make sure to use cool water as you do not want cooked banana in your hair
  • I recommend not using heat with this deep conditioner as you do not want cooked banana in your hair
