So about a couple of weeks ago, I tried a caramel treatment after hearing it moisturizes and adds shine. Well, that didn’t work well for me. I actually felt it dried out my hair. I’m not going to completely give it up though. I will be trying it again sometime next month. Here’s what I used:
- 4 oz baby banana food
- 2T EVOO
- 2T honey
- 1T blackstrap molasses
- 2 squirts ACV
I went under the dryer for 1 hour with this stuff on and well, I didn’t like it. It didn’t moisturize my hair at all. Maybe it’s something I did wrong?
The treatment alone didn’t make my hair any shinier or any easier to straighten. But, I’m not going to give up on it yet. I have enough ingredients to make a second batch so I’ll try again in about a month.
Here’s what it looked like:

I think it failed b/ca you went under the dryer…Try puting on you plastic shower cap then a black plastic bag…your body has enough heat…LOL also try this mix instead:
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup molasses or 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup EVOO
1/3 coconut oil
1/8 cup ACV (Braggs)
two over ripe bananas
blend ripe bananas till smooth then add every thing else.
use the cap and bag. Rinse with room temp. water. Shampoo and condition with moisture rich poo and condis.
Hope this helps.
Oh and it work best on damp hair.
